Not normally caught; however, occasionally hooked on small baits in weedy areas.
Spearfishing
The best method for hunting butterfish is to dive down and sit and wait for them to show themselves. Another popular method is to profile them by diving down deeper and swimming up, they tend to spook less when doing this.
