Any points or rocks that have strong current flowing past are likely spots.
Eating
A very nice firm flesh fish. Suits all methods of cooking.
Fishing
Highly regarded for it’s fighting qualities you will certainly know when you’ve got a kingi on.The most popular methods are to live bait,jig or troll lures.
Spearfishing
A fish best left to spearfishermen with reasonable experience.There are lots of factors to consider and deal with when shooting a kingfish. During the summer many spearo’s spend hour’s looking for these fish. Landing a kingfish is always rewarding and shooting one is only half the fun. If your planning on shooting a kingfish you must have the proper gear otherwise it can be dangerous and it’s expensive to replace your lost gear.

Gear
A 120cm gun seems to be the standard set-up for kingfish, with a 15m line and float attached to the end.
