The Poor Knights are located off the east coast of Northland,best acessed from Tutukaka.

What?
in 1981 was established as New Zealands second marine reserve.it consists of two large islands and a number of other small islands.

When?

Summer
During the summer you can see anything from Sunfish,Tuna,Marlin as well as Turtles and Manta Rays.feburary and march are great times for really good visability.

During the winter it's the best time for great visability as well as seeing fur seals it's also a good time to dive without lots of other divers around.

What Species?
At the Poor Knights you can expect all the regular species as well as tropical visitors and other rarities.things like Manta Rays,Hapuka,and Turtles are seen here on occasion.

The sheer number and size of fish here is a good enough reason to visit add onto that the amazing landscape,chance of seeing rare species and clear water and you have a diving paradise.Diving somewhere like tye dye arch can be mind blowing even for the most experienced divers.
