Eating
Regarded as poor eating.
Habitat
Sandy, rocky and weedy bottoms.
Fishing
Occasionally caught while fishing normally over weedy bottoms, often released or used as bait.
Spearfishing
Not normally targeted because of it’s poor eating qualities. Scarlet wrasse can be a flighty fish, particularly larger fish.
Scuba Diving
A commonly seen fish, tricky to get close enough to photograph as they seem to always be on the move.
