Croisilles, French Pass basin, Admiralty Bay mussel farms, Mahau Reach, Kenepuru Sound. Tawhitinui Reach, and Golden Bay.
Best time of year
During the warmer months, had a lot of success middle to end of summer.
Best baits/burley
Burley is the key to success here, lots of burley and good bait such as yellow-eyed mullet,barracouta or squid.
Spearfishing
The most consistent method of seeing and possibly shooting snapper is burley, making a massive burley along likely looking coast line and spending lots of time waiting watching and being sneaky is the key, a speared snapper is one of the most prized fish. Other methods include snapper snooping which involves creeping along the coastline.
