Stewart Island

Fishing
The main target species are blue cod, trumpeter and tarakihi with plenty of all three found around the island.trumpeter are usually found a meter or so off the bottom responding well to flasher rigs as well as bait and soft plastics.

Scuba Diving
Home to lots of large crayfish as well as scallops and oysters, Stewart island offers a lot of options for scuba divers making it hard to come back to the boat empty handed.With visabilty normally around 10m photography is a good option as well.

Spearfishing
A well known location for spearing large moki, butterfish and blue cod it is also a good location to target trumpeter as they are found all over stewart islands coast.Paua are found here in large numbers and generally quite large.
